Brad and Angelina leave Africa

Brad and Angelina leave Africa

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have left Namibia, a local official said.

Regional governor Samuel Nuuyoma said Saturday that the couple and their children – Maddox, 4, Zahara, 17 months, and newborn daughter Shiloh – had left the country, although he would not say when they left or where they went, the Associated Press reports.

On June 7, the couple told reporters at a press conference that they’d planned to leave Namibia within the next few days so that Pitt could begin filming Ocean’s 13.

Later, in an interview with the Namibian Broadcasting Corp., Pitt said, “I’d just like to thank the people of Namibia. They’ve been so gracious and made our stay here very special, and because of that we’ve had an incredible time with our family exploring the country, and a truly peaceful birth of our daughter.”

Jolie called their visit “an amazing adventure” and added, “We just love this part of the world.”

The couple arrived in the Southern African nation in early April to await Shiloh’s birth. They rented out the entire Burning Shore lodge.

Jolie’s brother, James Haven, tells PEOPLE of seeing the new parents with their infant daughter shortly after Shiloh’s May 27 arrival, “To see the father, mother, daughter – it was such a beautiful image that it overtook me.”
