Tori Spelling Home to Ailing Dad's Side

Television mogul Aaron Spelling, who suffered a stroke on Sunday, will soon have more support from his family: Daughter Tori and new husband Dean McDermott are on their way home from Canada to be with him, and son Randy will return from filming in Miami.

“Dean and I will be traveling back to Los Angeles to be by my dad’s side,” Tori Spelling saod. “We thank everyone for their love and concern for my dad during this difficult time. It means so much.”

Aaron Spelling, 83, whose hits range from Dynasty to Beverly Hills, 90210, “is resting at home under a doctor’s care,” his rep, Kevin Sasaki, said. Spelling suffered the stroke in his home, where wife Candy Spelling has been with him.

Sasaki said he didn’t yet know the severity of Spelling’s condition, but told the Associated Press that he wasn’t aware of any paralysis.

As for reports of a rift in the family, “the truth is that we love each other very much,” Randy Spelling said in a statement. “This isn’t Dynasty; this is real life, and we’re dealing with my dad’s medical condition with his best interests at heart, and as a family.”

In his long career, Spelling produced some 200 shows, including such hits as Starsky and Hutch, Charlie’s Angels, The Love Boat, Vegas, Hart to Hart, Dynasty, T.J. Hooker, Fantasy Island, Melrose Place and Charmed.
