Shanna Moakler is Devastated over Split

After her husband, Travis Barker, filed for divorce on Monday, Shanna Moakler is telling fans she still believes in “the power of love” but is “heartbroken over the demise of my marriage.”Â
In a message posted on her MySpace.com blog on Tuesday, where she lists her “current mood” as “disappointed,” the former Miss USA writes, “I can only say thank you to all those who have sent such touching letters, well wishes and prayers. I am very devastated and very much heartbroken over the demise of my marriage and for the upset of my family.” (The message’s authenticity was confirmed by Moakler’s publicist.)
Her post continues, “I wanted nothing more (than) to overcome the challenges we faced but failed. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and I have complete faith in the heavens … I can honestly say I have been truly blessed with great family and friends and of course my children who are the main focus of my concern.
“I still very much believe in the power of love … I look back with no regrets and feel blessed for my experience and look forward with an open mind … I am very sad but it is remarkable to see the outpouring of support I have been offered … again thank you for all your letters and kind words. In this time please know I do read your letters but I am sorry if I can’t respond.

Moakler, 31, and Barker, 30, who costarred in the MTV reality series Meet the Barkers, would have celebrated their two-year anniversary on Oct. 30. They have two children, son Landon, 2, and daughter Alabama, 7 months.
Before marrying Barker, a drummer for blink-182 and the Transplants, Moakler was engaged to boxer Oscar de la Hoya, with whom she has a daughter, Atiana, 7. Moakler and De la Hoya split in 2000, and she dated Dennis Quaid for eight months in 2001.
In 2001, Barker married psychology student Melissa Kennedy. They divorced in August 2002.

That’s sad. I thought they were cute and different. Also, she was whiny and clingy. Perhaps, he really felt this way for years since he’s so quiet. I wonder what he’s going to do with his kids. Wow. They both should have gotton counseling to work it it, I feel. Hopefully, they will get counseling individually before they continue to be married and make babies and never intend to stay put.
I wonder who caught who cheating or if they just learned that not loving each other was easier than loving each other. Who knows….

I could tell towards the end of the show that he was getting annoyed with her. HE never seemed happy and he was carbby with her— a lot—the Cadillac tire and rim, when she suprised him in Europe while on tour and he felt like she wasn’t giving him space after he performed… But you could make guesses about why—she was always in bed—even on the show—and did not seem to pay much attention to the daughter. I don’t know, I guess this reality show was different because there were children involved. I know that Celebrity jobs are demanding and their lives are different as it is based on the very nature of their business—but it still takes two to make it work just like NORMAL people. They made us want them to work—but it was pretty obvious that they weren’t meant to be together. Liek Travis said—they were VERY different. It is a shame—and how much harder must it be to be in the spotlight while dealing with something so upsetting? I feel for both of them and am sorry they couldn’t work it out. They both seem pretty cool, especially Travis:)

It’s really sad things had to work out like this for them. they seemd like a good couple. It’s also really sad that alot of people think they know travis and shanna from a reality show, producers put what they think would be good tv not what people are really like. I do hope thinks get better for the both of them.
