Paris Fails to Earn Greek Stamp of Approval

She may be one of the richest girls in Hollywood, but all the money in the world can’t buy Paris Hilton the respect of her boyfriend’s parents. While Hilton, 25, was seen openly flaunting a big sparkler on her left hand last week at a birthday dinner in LA with her sometimes boyfriend, Stavros Niarchos, (her rep denies that it’s an engagement ring), the New York Post’s Page Six reports that Niarchos’ wealthy Greek family want nothing to do with the blonde ambition, going as far as to avoid her on their last vacation.
“They refused to meet her last year when Paris and Stavros had dated for a while,” a source tells the paper. “Paris even followed him and his family to Hawaii, where they go every New Year’s, and they still wouldn’t meet her. They think she’s tacky.”
Needless to say, this isn’t the first time Hilton’s been voted out of a “Meet the Parents” style circle of trust. Greek shipping heir/fiancée number one, Paris Latsis, reportedly also faced the same dilemma when he tried to introduce Hilton to his conservative clan.
“For their son to even think of marrying such a woman is an insult to the entire family. She simply looks like a promiscuous innkeeper’s daughter to them,” railed a Latsis family source to Radar. “Paris [Latsis] knew this, which is why he didn’t tell his mother the whole story. He knew she wouldn’t agree to the match.â€
