I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Jennifer Lopez (J-Lo as she doesn’t want folks to call her anymore) hasn’t been in the limelight much recently. No albums, movies, tours, or rumors in magazines… just the way she wanted it.

“It was a choice,” Lopez told TV critics. “My life had become uncomfortable in the way it was affecting my personal life and the people in it, and so I decided that I needed to take a look at that, and my own responsibility in that.”

“I realized there was a way to pull back from it in the way I lived,” Lopez said. “It was an adjustment and a compromise, but I found a way to do it.”

It’s not like there’s some sort of secret formula. It’s just common sense. “You don’t go out as much. You choose different places to go,” Lopez said. “If you want to be in those magazines, you can. And if you don’t, you don’t have to be… So I chose to pull back on it a little bit, go a little bit underground, work on some things behind the scenes … and produce a little bit more. And that’s what I did.”

Probably won’t last long though, she’s making appearances on MTV’s DanceLife and has a couple new albums and movies scheduled for release this year. “This year, I’ll be out there a little bit more since I have that stuff coming out now,” J-Lo noted (yes we said it).
