Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber have gotten married – or have they?

As the couple headed into the Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, Shreiber, 39, told Entertainment Tonight: “We are married. You got it first. Break the story!”

But they spent the rest of the evening denying they’d tied the knot. Backstage, a Vera Wang-clad Watts, 38, was asked if she had wed. She smiled and said, “No.” Schreiber meanwhile, said of the report: “Not true.”

The couple, who confirmed in February they are expecting their first child, will welcome the baby in August, ET reports.

Speaking to reporters at the Tonys on Sunday, Schreiber talked about possible names for the baby. “I’m thinking Tony is a good name,” he joked (he was nominated for a best actor award for his performance in Talk Radio, but lost out to Frank Langella for Frost/Nixon.)

He added that he and Watts didn’t know whether they were having a boy or a girl: “I really don’t know. I wanted to know; she doesn’t.”
