Charlize Theron is addicted – to Howie Mandel’s game show Deal or No Deal, according to the actress’s director, Paul Haggis.

While shooting their new film, In the Valley of Elah, on location in Albuquerque, N.M., “I went to Charlize’s trailer to talk to her about a scene, and I heard these really strange sounds inside,” Haggis said on Wednesday at a screening of Elah in New York’s Sag Harbor. “I heard Howie Mandel’s voice. Inside the trailer, she was watching the video-[game] version of Deal or No Deal.”

Australian actress Jacinda Barrett and her husband Gabriel Macht have welcomed their first child, a baby girl, her rep confirms.

Satine Anais Geraldine Macht was born Aug. 20 in Los Angeles.

“Mum and Satine are happy and healthy,” says her publicist.

Barrett, 35, and Macht, 35, have been married since 2004. The couple first confirmed they were expecting a child in May.

Owen Wilson has placed his acting career on hold as he recovers from his suicide attempt.

Wilson, 38, has dropped out of Tropic Thunder, a movie comedy for DreamWorks he was set to begin shooting in two to three weeks with longtime pal Ben Stiller, Variety reports.

Wilson’s role was due to take a week, according to the trade paper. Stiller – who is producing, directing and starring in the film – started shooting in Hawaii six weeks ago.
