Martina Hingis Accused of Positive Cocaine Test at Wimbledon
Tennis star Martina Hingis says she has been accused of testing positive for cocaine at Wimbledon, the Associated Press reports.
Hingis, who is Swiss, also announced she is retiring from professional tennis.
Hingis, 27, the 1997 Wimbledon champ and a five-time Grand Slam winner, has denied using cocaine.
She took four years off of professional tennis due to injuries, but returned to the sport two years ago. Her last match, which she lost to Peng Shuai of China, was at the U.S. Open on Sept. 19
During the highlight of her career, she won three straight Australian Open titles from 1997-99, and both the U.S. Open and Wimbledon in 1997.
