Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie Van Halen Divorce Finalized
The divorce between Valerie Bertinelli and guitarist Eddie Van Halen has been finalized, court records in Los Angeles show.
Bertinelli, 47, and Van Halen, 52, had been married for 25 years.
“The parties have resolved all their issues amicably in mediation,” say the documents, released on Friday. “Neither spouse shall take unfair advantage of the other spouse.”
The former couple have one son, Wolfgang, 16, who is touring with his dad’s reunited band, Van Halen.
Bertinelli and Van Halen – the ultimate good girl-bad boy pairing of the ’80s – had been separated and living apart since October 2001. Bertinelli filed for divorcein December 2005.
The two met in 1980, when the One Day at a Time actress went backstage after a Van Halen concert in Shreveport, La.
Bertinelli, who recently went public about her weight battle, is a spokeswoman for Jenny Craig and is writing a memoir called Losing It: And Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time.
