Alanis Is Really Happy for Ryan Reynolds
Here’s one more thing you oughta know: Alanis Morissette has nothing but nice things to say about her ex-fiancé Ryan Reynolds. Even now that he’s engaged to Scarlett Johansson.
“I’m really happy for him,” the singer, who called off her engagement to Reynolds in 2007, told Newsweek.
As for reports that her new album, Flavors of Entanglement, was originally supposed to be released on the same day as Johansson’s? “My album release date has been moved five times,” she said, “so I wasn’t even aware of what the dates where.”
Sounds so reasonable! Where is that trademark anger that made Morissette a star with Jagged Little Pill?
“I think anger is an incredible life force, and I’m proud of my own anger,” she told the magazine. “I’d been repressing for a long time … A lot was squashed down, and all of a sudden I had this freedom to write whatever I wanted, so of course this was going to come out.”
