The night after celebrating their bachelor and bachelorette parties, Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson kicked off their wedding weekend with a traditional rehearsal dinner.

The intimate party was hosted by Wentz’s father Pete and mother Dale, who traveled to Los Angeles from their home in Chicago earlier this week. It was held at the Beverly Hills home of Jessica Simpson, who will be Ashlee’s maid of honor.

Despite break-up reports, Jessica Simpson will bring Tony Romo as her date to Ashlee Simpson’s weekend wedding, a source said.

Jessica, 27, will be maid of honor at her 23-year-old sister’s wedding to rocker Pete Wentz. A source close to Jessica says that Romo will be attending the event with Jessica.

Robert “Mutt” Lange says that his split from Shania Twain is “unfortunate.”

“It’s just an unfortunate thing that’s happened,” Lange said shortly after the couple’s separation was announced Thursday. “It’s literally just a growing apart, that’s all.”

A source close to Twain also says that the singer didn’t expect the split. “She’s devastated,” another source says. “She’s getting through it with a very close-knit group of family and friends.”
