HBO executives say they are “absolutely interested” in making follow-up to the hugely popular Sex and the City movie.
“Everybody came away feeling very excited by [the first film's] quality and its success, so that always invites the possibility of a continuation,” HBO co-president Richard Plepler said Thursday after the network’s session at the Television Critics Association’s press tour.
Will it actually happen?
Heath Ledger will receive a special posthumous tribute at the end of his Batman movie, The Dark Knight.
The movie’s closing credits will also acknowledge special-effects technician Conway Wickliffe, who was killed last September in a stunt-car accident.
The send-off reads, “In memory of our friends Heath Ledger & Conway Wickliffe.”
Ledger, who died in January, plays the villainous Joker in the film, which opens July 18. It also stars Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader, as well as Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Break a leg? Not exactly. But theater vet Mary-Louise Parker was nursing a broken toe at Sunday night’s Tony Awards in New York City.
“I smashed it on the bed frame,” she said at the after party, where she remained seated in her Alberta Ferretti gown. “Good for me, right?”
Alas, it was no real-life romp. The actress injured herself while shooting a scene from Weeds. “How’s that for commitment?” she mused. “Fantastic!”
