Jessica SimpsonJessica Simpson broke down in tears as she performed at a country music festival in Wisconsin on Saturday night.

Playing to a crowd of several thousand – including boyfriend Tony Romo – at Country Thunder USA, Simpson told fans, “This is my first time being onstage in three years. Coming out tonight makes me extremely emotional, I’m so thankful for all of the personal struggles and all of the tabloids and all of the people that talk s—,” she continued, choking back tears. “I’m so happy I went through that because it makes life so much more beautiful.”

Janet and JustinOne of the most infamous moments in Super Bowl history may have seen Janet Jackson bear a lot of flesh – but that doesn’t mean CBS ought to bear a big financial burden, a three-judge panel has ruled.

A federal appeals court in Philadelphia on Monday tossed out the $550,000 that the Federal Communications Commission levied against CBS Corp. for the 2004 nationally televised halftime show that introduced the phrase “wardrobe malfunction” to the world. The court said the FCC had acted “arbitrarily and capriciously.”

Jewel and Jessica SimpsonJessica Simpson has encountered some skeptics since announcing her plan to leave pop music and go country, but don’t count Jewel among them.

Instead, the Nashville Star judge offers a warm country welcome to Simpson, whose debut single, “Come on Over,” has cracked the top 25 on the Mediabase country airplay chart.

“I really like Jessica. She’s always been such a sweet, sweet person,” Jewel says. “If I were going to give her any advice, I would say work hard and be authentic. Be true to who you are.”
