Jeff Gordon and Ingrid Vandebosch Have Baby Girl
Jeff Gordon and his Belgian model-actress wife, Ingrid Vandebosch, welcomed a daughter on Wednesday, the NASCAR driver announced on his Web site.
Ella Sofia Gordon, the couple’s first child, was born at 9:09 a.m. in New York and weighed 7 lbs, 1 oz.
“It’s been an absolutely incredible experience,” Gordon wrote in a message on his site. “Ingrid came through amazingly and we’re both really happy and overjoyed. We can’t wait to get home and start our lives together as a family.”
Gordon, 35, and Vandebosch met in the summer of 2002 through mutual friends and began dating in the winter of 2005. They worked together on the 2004 movie Taxi, in which Vandebosch played a bank robber and Gordon made an unbilled cameo appearance. They wed in November 2006 in Mexico.
He announced the pregnancy last December, saying, “Christmas came early for us.”
Gordon, a four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion will travel to Northern California for this weekend’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at Infineon Raceway.
