Britney’s Mom Says Sam Lutfi Drugged Britney

Britney and SamBritney Spears’s mother accused Sam Lutfi of drugging the singer and verbally abusing her, according to a request for a temporary restraining order against Lutfi.

The request, which was granted, also gives a detailed description of the chaotic scene at Spears’s house when her mother arrived Jan. 28 for an intervention, with Spears bizarrely talking like a “very young girl” and changing her clothes and her dogs’ clothes “many times.”

Heath Ledger Toxicology Test Results Delayed

heath ledgerHeath Ledger’s toxicology test results are now expected to be released Wednesday morning, a source in the New York City Medical Examiner’s office confirmed.

“They definitely will not be released” Tuesday, said the source. “They were supposed to be released [Tuesday] but they will instead be released Wednesday morning.” The source did not specify the reason why the results are being held overnight.

Britney’s Dad Stays in Control for Now

Britney SpearsA court commissioner on Monday extended the control of Britney Spears’s father over the singer’s affairs, including her $40 million fortune.

Jamie Spears will remain co-conservator of his daughter’s estate until Feb. 14, the commissioner ruled, despite a lawyer’s claims Britney had a “strong desire” against her father’s temporary oversight.

The decision came in a hearing in which attorney Adam Streisand, who asserted he was hired by Britney Spears, argued that Jaime Spears’s conservatorship “would only cause further distress, agitation and estrangement.”

Heath Ledger’s Family Heads Home

heath ledgerHeath Ledger’s family has departed from Los Angeles back to Perth, Australia, for what is expected to be a funeral in the actor’s hometown.

The group of about 15 people, including the actor’s father Kim, mother Sally and elder sister Kate, left LAX for Tullamarine Airport, on Sunday night, reports Perth Now, which described the exit as having been carried out in a military-style operation overseen by the Australian Consulate and handled by police and private security staff.

Attorneys Go to Court; No Changes in Britney Custody

BritneyWith Britney Spears hospitalized under a 14-day hold, attorneys arrived in court Monday for another custody hearing, but the session was postponed until later this month.

Lawyers for Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline were at the downtown courthouse with two new players: an attorney for Spears’s father Jamie, who as temporary co-conservator has been granted widespread powers over her life, and the other co-conservator, lawyer Andrew Wallet.

Sara Evans Steps Out with a New Man

A friend of the country singer confirms that Evans and Jay Barker, a former football star at the University of Alabama who now hosts a sports radio show in Birmingham, are an item. “They are dating,” the friend says.

Evans, who turns 37 on Tuesday and whose divorce from Craig Schelske was finalized in September, appeared as an in-studio guest on Barker’s show, “The Opening Drive” on WJOX, the day after Thanksgiving.

Britney SpearsBritney Spears’s 72-hour psychiatric hold at the UCLA Medical Center has expired as of Sunday morning – but the singer is still hospitalized.

Legal analysts say either her psychiatrist requested an additional 14-day hold, or Spears is staying voluntarily on a day-to-day basis.

What is life like for Spears at the Stewart & Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA? According to the patient’s bill of rights at the hospital, she is allowed to wear her own clothes and keep her own personal possessions, including toiletries. She may also see visitors every day and make and receive phone calls – but not on her personal cell phone. There are pay phones on the floor.
