In what is likely a first for television, Tyra Banks on Monday will devote her entire hour-long talk show to discussing the vagina.
“I have wanted to do this show for two years,” says Banks, 33. “I know for a lot of women talking about what is going on in our bodies is extremely difficult, but it is incredibly important.”
She added, “We should be able to talk to our daughters, sisters, mothers and friends about our bodies and not be embarrassed. I hope after this show women will not be ashamed about what’s up down there.”
So how did Jennifer Garner feel after making her Broadway debut Thursday night?
“I’m ready for a glass of wine!” she said while making her way into the Cyrano de Bergerac opening night party. “I’m just happy that I stayed on my feet and said everything that I was suppose to say.”
She sure did. The Big Ben of Broadway – New York Times critic Ben Brantley – called the production “surprisingly potent,” star Kevin Kline “artfully low-key” and Garner “captivating” in her demanding role as the love interest Roxane.
Britney Spears was on the prowl Halloween night — literally.
The singer, 25, dressed as a sexy tiger as she hit Heidi Klum’s Halloween bash at L.A.’s Green Door lounge with cousin Alli Sims.
The eye-popping costume echoes Spears’ 2006 obsession with the animal when she posted this rant on her web site:
“I’m mesmerized by tigers. Their eyes, their stripes, their constant quest for survival. They almost have a sense of mysteriousness about them. They pull you in and make it difficult to look away. They make you wonder what is behind their gaze.”
Tennis star Martina Hingis says she has been accused of testing positive for cocaine at Wimbledon, the Associated Press reports.
Hingis, who is Swiss, also announced she is retiring from professional tennis.
Hingis, 27, the 1997 Wimbledon champ and a five-time Grand Slam winner, has denied using cocaine.
She took four years off of professional tennis due to injuries, but returned to the sport two years ago. Her last match, which she lost to Peng Shuai of China, was at the U.S. Open on Sept. 19
It was a pre-Halloween treat for Mark Ruffalo and his wife Sunrise Coigney: The couple have welcomed a daughter, his rep confirms.
The girl was born in Los Angeles. No other details were available.
This is the third child for Ruffalo, 39, and his wife, 34. The couple also have son Keen, 6, and daughter Bella, 2.
Ruffalo and Coigney, the owner of the L.A. Boutique Kaviar and Kind, wed in 2000. The actor is currently starring in the film Reservation Road opposite Joaquin Phoenix.
Britney Spears, whose first four studio albums hit No. 1 on the charts, is likely to return to the pinnacle with her fifth, Blackout, based on a brisk first day of sales, according to Billboard magazine.
The album, released on Tuesday, sold 124,000 copies on its first day, more than double that of the current chart-topper, Carrie Underwood’s Carnival Ride, in the same period. Spears’s label, Jive/Zomba, expects the album to sell between 330,000 and 350,000 copies in its first week, which should easily propel it into the No. 1 slot, Billboard reports.
Lance Armstrong and Ashley Olsen appear to be getting friendly: The unlikely twosome have met up at least twice this week while the former Tour de France champ is in town for the New York Marathon, sources said.
The pair first shared a special moment on Monday night, getting close at the Rose Bar inside the Gramercy Park Hotel. (The rendezvous was well-documented in New York’s newspapers on Wednesday.)
An observer says: “Lance was hanging with her, definitely. [Olsen] was very flirtatious, and was sitting on his lap.”
Back in Los Angeles after the Good Charlotte band tour of Australia, Joel Madden is happily shifting priorities from rock frontman to proud papa-to-be with pregnant girlfriend Nicole Richie.
“Having a baby is the most exciting thing that’s ever happened to
 me, and to us,” Madden, 28, said at the Xbox’s Guitar Hero III Best Buy party in Los Angeles.
Madden also discounted rumors of any turmoil between him and Richie, 26, saying “[We're] really happy. Everything else that the others have printed has been completely false.”
