Tori Spelling in Talks for New 90210

Tori SpellingTori Spelling, who played Donna Martin on the original Beverly Hills, 90210, is in negotiations with the CW about reprising her role in the network’s upcoming spin-off, which recently cast Jennie Garth as a counselor at West Beverly High.

“Jennie is already on board for the series and we have been in touch about it,” Spelling says. “I would love to see our characters Kelly and Donna together again and get the chance to work with my friend again.”

The principal characters for the show have been cast for the pilot except Harry Mills, patriarch of the Mills family who moves his family from Kansas to Beverly Hills so he can take care of his alcoholic mother.

Since the network’s announcement that a spin-off was in the works, Spelling has expressed an interest in the show that originally set the standard for teen drama and featured fan-favorites Kelly, Dylan and Brenda.

“It was always my dad’s dream and intention to make a new 90210 before he passed, so I know he is proud and he would be even more proud if I were a part of it,” said Spelling, 34, of her father, TV producer Aaron Spelling. “I truly hope for the fans’ sake that it all works out!”

A rep for the CW said, “At this point, there is nothing to report.”

Currently, Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott are currently shooting her reality show, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. The show premieres June 17 on Oxygen.
